Vijay Sethupathi - one of the most versatile actors in Indian film industry, has acted in more than 50 films, with many of them being successful. His first lead role was in Seenu Ramasamy's ‘Thenmerku Paruvakatru’ (2010) and his first blockbuster ‘Pizza’ (2012). Starting his acting career as a background actor, has become a popular actor by being unconventional - acting as protagonist, antagonist and character roles, and yet finding a way to establish himself and becoming a star who commands his own space in the Indian film industry.
With more than 16 years of experience, he has become the most sought after actor in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and other Indian language films. He has also acted in Web Series, Anthologies and Short films.

Years of experience in the industry
Vijay Sethupathi joined the Chennai based theatre group “Koothupattarai”as an accountant and acting training, where had the opportunity to observe the actors from close quarters. In the beginnings he got chance to act as a background Actor, particularly playing the role of the Lead Character's friend in a few Films. His first lead role was in Seenu Ramasamy's “Thenmerku Paruvakaatru” (2010).
2012 marked as a turning point in Sethupathi's career, all his three releases were both Critically and Commercially Successes, resulting in a rise in his popularity. In the films “Pizza” and “Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom”, he proved his versatility and acumen to handle any role by carrying the entire movie on his shoulders. In the year 2016 he was named as “Makkal Selvan” (People’s Man) while Filming for the film “Dharma Durai” which was also a block buster in his career.

Vijay Sethupathi accompanied a group of actors who went to director Selvaraghavan's studio to audition for his gangster film Pudhupettai (2006) and was selected to play Dhanush's friend in the film.
Following Pudhupettai, he gave many supporting roles and guest appearances in films such as Prabu Solomon's Lee (2007), Suseenthiran’s Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009), Naan Mahaan Alla (2010).
